No, no it didn’t *have* to be said. It gets said every other day of the fucking year, thank-you-very-fucking-much.
You want to know what prevents us from being equal? Assholes like you. Assholes that get their knickers in a twist over something that they aren’t even required to do anything about or for. It doesn’t even affect you, at least, no more than the patriarchal misogynistic bullshit that gets blared at us every other day of the year affects us.
I’m guessing, though, that you can’t grasp this because, frankly, you’re soaking in it.
Women make up just over half the world’s population. They work two thirds of the working hours for ten percent of the income and own one percent of the property. You think we’re equal? Not by a long shot.
Have you been living under a rock for the last few weeks? Have you missed the laws restricting abortion in the United States? Have you listened to the misogynistic rhetoric coming out of the mouths of pundits, personalities and politicians?
We ask for one fucking day to celebrate not only our accomplishments but to celebrate our hope that eventually we will really be equal and you get OFFENDED?
Fuck no. That shit is not on.
All that anger is very unbecoming of a civil human being. You don’t know me, who I am, what I do and what I stand for. Thank you for character assasinating me as opposed to discussing the points I made regarding Egalitarianism.
I never said that women didn’t have it though, of course you all do, and that’s not mostly your fault, but this on going problem you have with Feminism and Mysandry ( yes that VERY much exists today, proof by your words of discontent toward me for no other reason than I am a man, expressing criticism for feminism’s need to validate each other by pissing on men)
My point was simply that the time for gender war is over and women, as well as men need to realize that we need to fight for each other’s freedom, not just one or the other.
And actually this whole ” it doesn’t affect me” stance is quite false, much like ANY other “Holiday” for special interests “father’s day, mother’s day, Christmas etc..) I have to subjected to bullshit from some special category of society who claims they are being treated unfairly, yet refuse to realize the greater issue of inaquality among the general populace vs those in power.
I apologize, but if you’d like the vast majority of men to start treating you the way you deserve to be treated, then please return that sentiment towards men. Most misogynistic men are that way because of ignorance and misinformation provided to them by the generations of the past.
It’s not easy for ANYBODY to change their entire mentality towards something, and although I think that there’s been plenty of time for us to move out of that mindset, there are a large number of people who are not.
Religion and politics are the key factors in why it hasn’t changed, as well as the world being run by Oligarchs. But this system of division among common men and women is the whole point.
I’m not saying it’s right and I’m not saying it should continue, but the way forward is by educating these individuals and making them see that we are all equal, regardless of race, gender or any other label we wish to apply to ourselves.
Not by attacking each other and taking words out of context and applying ad hominem attacks to them.
